Our cats and kittens are allowed to be adopted anywhere in NYC/NJ/Long Island.
Please note, all our kittens under 6 months old are available in pairs only or to the home with another cat/cat friendly dog. Bonded pairs will not be split up.

Lorelai was spotted by one of our volunteers while feeding one of the feral colonies we care for. All the cats in our managed colonies are spayed/neutered and ear tipped, so even late at night it was obvious that we had a newcomer. The kitty was sitting there, completely ignoring the hissing and growling from the feral cats around her. Slowly, she walked toward our volunteer as if she wanted to say, “Please don’t leave me here… I don’t belong outside.”

We immediately realized not only that she was friendly, but also heavily pregnant and very sick. Our volunteer quickly grabbed a carrier from the car, and this sweet girl walked right in.

The next morning we rushed her to the vet because we were extremely worried about her condition. Thankfully, her bloodwork came back normal, she tested FIV/FeLV negative, and we were told she was carrying two kittens who were about to be born. We won’t lie — we were a nervous wreck thinking about this fragile girl giving birth and caring for babies while feeling so weak.

But two days later, on April 1st, Lorelai completely tricked us — she safely delivered her tiny babies and instantly became the most devoted mama!

We don’t know who abandoned this gorgeous girl or how long she had been struggling outside, but we do know one thing: from the moment she entered our rescue, she would only know love, safety, and care.

Lorelai is estimated to be around 1.5–2 years old, though she acts like a kitten herself. She may be a little shy at first, but she warms up to new people very quickly. And her babies, Nepeta and Reggie, are absolutely wonderful — funny, silly, playful, social little creatures who bring joy everywhere they go.

Nepeta and Reggie are available for adoption together only — they will not be separated.
Lorelai can be adopted separately into a home where she will receive plenty of love and attention.
