Ernie (more long hair) is a little shy at first but has really started to gain confidence and loves to play with feather toys. He is always quick to purr as soon as he is picked up. They have been around indoor cats with no issue and exposed to dogs, a large and small dog and all were fine together. They have been fine traveling in the car.
