Cortina is a beautiful young girl whose early life started tough, but now she’s ready for a brighter, gentler future. Around 1 year old, she was found hanging around someone's backyard all alone-scared, hungry, and crying out for help. A kind-hearted neighbour reached out to us, and our amazing trapper quickly caught her and brought her safely into our care. Since arriving, Cortina has received a full veterinary exam, is in good health, and is now ready to begin her journey toward a loving furrever home.

Cortina is a gentle and sweet-natured, though still quite shy and sensitive, as she continues to learn that the world can be safe and people can be trusted. Slowly, she is taking small, brave steps and beginning to show glimpses of the loving companion we know she can be. With people she knows, she is starting to allow slow, soft pets and even offering affectionate slow blinks from her cat tree, where she feels safest.

It’s important to have realistic expectations for Cortina, as she will need time to settle in and is not expected to be a lap cat or show immediate affection on day 1 or even day 30. She will likely spend her first few weeks observing you from a safe hiding spot. Cortina will need patient adopters, ideally those familiar with shy cats, who understand that it takes time to build trust and a bond. She will thrive in a quiet, calm, adult-only home where she can open up and build confidence at her own pace. Cortina does very well with other cats and would benefit from having a friendly, confident feline friend in her future home to provide companionship and support as she settles in. Cortina has excellent litter box manners.
