Meet Miss Mabel: Your New Professional Lap Warmer!

If you’re looking for a low-maintenance companion with a high-quality purr, look no further than Miss Mabel, a very petite (7.5 lbs) sweet and independent 7-year-old calico.

Mabel has a healthy food and water appetite, uses her litterbox, and settled into her foster’s home quickly. She is very curious and loves being near the action. She loves a good cardboard box, Churro treats, and her toys. She likes to sit on my lap while I work from home or am watching TV—whether that’s sitting on your lap while you work from home, lounging next to you on the couch, or checking out what you’re cooking in the kitchen. I try to play with her a few min a day with a feather wand, but she really likes to play by herself with a small plush mouse or a hair tie she discovers on the floor.

Mabel adores affection, though she prefers it to be gentle and on her own terms. Mabel is the kind of cat who chooses her snuggles and pets thoughtfully. She is independent, loving her space and can be sensitive to petting (seems to get overstimulated easily), but a few times, she will curl right into your lap to cuddle or head butt your hand to tell you she would like some head scratches, chin scratches, and kisses. Overall, Mabel is incredibly loving, just not the pushy type. My favorite thing about Mabel is she loves to sleep on my chest at night, purr loudly, and basically watch over me while I sleep--it’s quite adorable.

Mabel used to live with 2 other cats .All the cats were separated at the shelter. I think Mabel’s ideal home would be a calm one where she can feel secure, explore her curiosity, and be adored without pressure. She is just looking for a quiet spot to nap, a human to love, and endless Churo treats and freeze dried chicken bites!
