Bengal Cats Available for Adoption in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

MURPHY

Bengal
🇺🇸
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
May 7th
male, medium, senior

DESCRIPTION

Murphy is more muppet than Robocop, but doesn't mean he doesn't follow similar prime directives -- serving his adopter's trust, protecting innocent catnip toys, and upholding the law of naptimes!

Murphy is, by all accounts, your typical Bengal. Except he's already a little older, so he's less speedboat and more rowboat when it comes to zooming down the river. Loud and extra chatty, but also social and easy to handle. He loves being the center of attention and getting his daily, preferrably nonstop, scritches. And of course food. Soooo much food. We don't know where he puts it.

Murphy came from an active home with plenty of other cats, but overall would be fine on his own. If he did find a partner the best fit would be an equally social but also indepedent kitty, so not one that actively needs that grooming and cuddling companionship. He could do fine with children as well, but has no known history around dogs. Bengals are also gonna Bengal, so Murphy has had some issues with soft stools and may require additional treatment (fiber, probiotics, etc) and a special diet in the future if a vet recommends it.

This cat is currently located at PAWS Old City Adoption Center located at 100 North 2nd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106. This location prioritizes appointments made by already approved applicants, but we can also accommodate browsers and walk-ins if and as our capacity allows. To ensure your best experience and best chance at meeting your new furry family member, we recommend completing the application ahead of your visit, which you can find at phillypaws.org/catapp.

If you have any questions, feel free to email adoptions@phillypaws.org or call 215-238-9901 ext.30.

FOSTER PARENTS:

Murphy has been having consistently soft stools here at the center, which is currently being treated with a once a day probiotic, but might require additional evaluation and treatment in the future (and maybe a special prescription diet?). He would also do better have more room to romp and roam, which could also help with the litter box issues (lanky cat with tiny litter space in his cage).

Murphy came from a home with multiple cats, so he could be intergrated into a home with equally social adult cats after a proper intro time and an FeLV/FIV test.

ABOUT: BENGAL CAT BREED

The Bengal cat is a unique and striking breed known for its wild appearance and playful demeanor. Developed by crossing Asian leopard cats with domestic shorthairs, Bengals have luxurious, soft coats with distinctive markings that resemble those of wild leopards. These intelligent and energetic cats make loving companions, forming strong bonds with their human families. With their active nature and love for play, Bengals require plenty of mental and physical stimulation to thrive in a home environment.
