Meet Rufus - Born approximately February 25th, 2026 now 10 weeks old
Rufus is an adorable black kitten who had a very rough start in life. He was found hiding under a store in downtown Lafayette—scared, cold, and trying to survive on his own. When he was finally rescued, it became clear he had a serious injury to his tail. After being brought to the veterinarian, we learned that his tail was severely infected, likely from an encounter with another animal, and needed to be amputated. Thankfully, he was rescued just in time.
Rufus came through surgery beautifully and now sports the cutest little nubby tail. Despite everything he’s been through, he is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and trusting. He has a sleek black coat with faint tabby-like stripes that you can see in the light. Rufus is curious, loves to be held, and is ready to find a loving forever home.
