Velcro is a 9-year-old jenday conure with a big personality and a love of people. She's social, expressive, and quick to announce visitors with her loud, cheerful calls. Velcro can say a few words in her adorable robotic voice and loves chattering from her ceiling-mounted rope swing or watching the world outside the window.
While hand-tame, Velcro prefers to interact on her own terms and appreciates people who respect her boundaries, especially around her cage, which she considers her safe space. She will sassily bob her head when she's not happy with something, and will ramble about what she dislikes--gibberish, but so cute! She's currently building confidence with out-of-cage time and enjoys spending time near her humans, especially during meal time. (Of course! She's very interested in what you're eating!)
Velcro has been exploring new foods in her foster home. When served a mixed selection of chop, including beans, vegetables, fruits, and some seeds, she eagerly examines her chop, choosing and eating only what she desires.
Velcro enjoys rope perches, treats, and plenty of companionship. Because jenday conures can rank higher than other parrots on the volume scale, Velcro's ideal forever home should not have shared walls. She would do best in a patient home willing to continue encouraging her confidence and enrichment.
Chatty, funny, and full of charm, Velcro is sure to keep her future family entertained with her quirky personality and sweet nature. Apply to adopt Velcro today!
