January 2016--- We received our 501(c)3 status with the IRS!!

October 2015- the great folks at Modern Woodmen had another supply drive for us at the Oktibbeha County Co-Op and also a TSC in Starkville!! Thank you! We received over a dozen bags of food, some toys and rawhide chews, and some money that is going toward flea prevention products and heart-worm control. Thank you, thank you, especially to Jamey Bachman and Barbara Coats!!

January 2015- We have found our biggest area of service is with older dogs. It is just difficult to place them in adoptive families because most families look for dogs who are less than one year old. So we maintain the refuge and joyfully care for the sweet aging dogs- that are actually easier to take care of than the puppies!! And when we do receive the pups, they usually adopt out pretty quickly. I would love to find a way to promote spay and neutering and maybe work with a vet who would be part of a partnership to begin a low cos

We have a thoughtful process to help you find the perfect animal friend. We are hopeful the process will ensure a happy "forever" placement for the pet and will support the new owner!! Our policies and adoption procedures are very similar to the policies and procedures that the ASPCA recommends and maintains.You can request an adoption application and/or a copy of our adoption information brochure by writing to our email address: oktocanimalrescue@gmail.com
Adoption fees are $40 for cats and $75 for dogs. This is a tax deductible donation that goes back to the animals 100%, for their veterinary and daily care. All persons affiliated with OAR are unpaid volunteers.
 
 
We are located at Harmony Farm,  a family farm in Starkville, Mississippi. Since we are a family farm, we take visitors by appointment only. We also have some animals being fostered by local families.
