Its our mission to provide a safe haven for special needs animals, and animals in need of a great forever home. We also help low-income and elderly Lake area residents with emergency pet care needs. Founded in 1999 by four women, the Blue Moon Aninmal Sanctuary is dedicated to the welfare of companion animals at the Lake of the Ozarks.  We provide a safe haven and permanent home to approximately 65 special needs animals who have been deemed "unadoptable" by society.



100% of your donation goes directly to help animals in need at the Lake. We at BLUEMOON SANCTUARY are volunteer based.





No one lives in a cage; instead, they have free reign in their foster homes.







We are a 501(c)3 organization - your donations are tax deductible!

All of our animals are pre-loved and ready for their forever home.


Spayed/neutered and current on all shots, we guarantee our pets.  If something happens that you can't keep your pet, we will welcome him/her back - even if it's 10 years from now!


We do vet references to ensure that we have a perfect match for both you and your new family member!
